Hospitality and gambling entertainment market leader Las Vegas Sands has announced the creation of a new programme to invest in developers and product providers to the online gambling industry. According to company statements, the move has been taken to "raid" the gambling market.

The industry giant will create a "digital development investment team casino not on gamstop". It will be led by Davies Kathleen, senior managing director at Sands Capital. It is this unit that is tasked with identifying priority areas for investment and allocating money to promising projects.

"Sands is determined to strengthen its industry leadership position and is committed to doing so through strategic moves that we believe best position the brand in the eyes of its partners and the global community," said chief executive Robert Goldstein. It was he who took over the post following the death of corporation founder Sheldon Adelson in early 2021.

The functionary noted that online gambling is still in its early stages of development. As a result, there is a lot of room for growth in this sector.

"Digital development and other related offerings are still at an early stage of development. We believe we have a great opportunity to invest in emerging technologies with great promise," Goldstein added.

"We believe that the platform, expertise and financial resources of our organisation, as well as the investment team led by Davis, will provide meaningful investment opportunities that will bring significant long-term benefits to the company," the Las Vegas Sands CEO summed up his interview.
