Danish gambling regulator changes bonus availability rules

spil casino uden NemID

Spillemyndigheden watchdog used the official filing ( in PDF format ) to announce that the changes will apply to the benefit of any "Sales Promotion" , including those engaged with deposit bonuses , free spins , favourable odds , and time-limited offers . The authority explained that the change came after an order was received requiring it to update its policy on anyone offering such schemes either online or through land-based betting facilities. As a consequence of these restrictions, offers such as spil casino uden NemID have begun to appear en masse on the Danish market, where one can start playing without any restrictions.

The following provisions

The regulator said its new rules further clarified that punters should now be able to claim proceeds from any promotional offer without including new conditions . It said that such terms and conditions " must be clearly and prominently set out directly alongside the promotion offer " without including " unnecessary information that could contribute to confusion and doubt " to prevent " misunderstanding, ambiguity or misinterpretation. '

"'Visible implies that the promotion and its terms and conditions must appear loyal . In assessing this, it must be stressed that the terms and conditions are written in such a way that they can be read and understood immediately in terms of font size, font colour and design in general." - The Spillemyndigheden documentation states.

Assessment of the amount

The watchdog clarified that its revised rules also set a maximum threshold for any promotional offer for online casinos, sports betting or land-based games to be set at $158 . It further argued that this condition only applied to the initial value of any promotion and not to future winnings , with the valuation of non-cash winnings to be based on market value. '

"'If the promotion is accompanied by a requirement to make a deposit to an account or wager in the game in order to take advantage of the promotion, the requirement to make a deposit to an account or wager in the game must be 100% of the value of the promotion offered.

Passing ceiling

Spillemyndigheden's change of stance on promotions comes a week after it announced that it should relax the range of testing requirements and provide more certification opportunities for those interested in entering the growing iGaming market in Denmark . The watchdog said that its recently updated advertising regulations furthermore stipulate that future passing requirements should be limited to no more than ten times the amount of any initial deposit .
