AJ&L COVID-19 Official Statement

By | Community Engagement, from Les Gold, from Seth Gold

With the current outbreak of COVID-19 both internationally and locally, we at American Jewelry & Loan wanted to take a moment to assure our team and valued customers that we are taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of every person that enters our facilities.

Not only are we following the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Governor Whitmer, but we have taken added precautions and safety measures.  Our team is routinely disinfecting all areas of the stores before, after and during work hours. Additionally, latex gloves have been made available to our team to help prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.

There are thousands of Detroiters that rely on us each day, so we do not plan on changing our hours unless mandated by the state of Michigan.  Remember that you can always pay your loan or layaway payments online at www.PawnDetroit.com or at our in-store kiosk.

Should you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to give us a call or email us at [email protected].

Thank you for your continued trust and patronage.

Les Gold to Act As Celebrity Auctioneer in 2019 JA Business Hall of Fame Live Auction

By | Community Engagement, from Les Gold

On Thursday, March 7, 2019, Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan will hold its annual Business Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Live Auction Fundraiser.

Les Gold, president and founder of American Jewelry & Loan, is proud to participate as celebrity auctioneer for the live auction portion of the event.

The live auction event is a fundraiser for JA, who the Golds have partnered with to promote entrepreneurship and business skills in young people via The Gold Bank. The Gold Bank is a source for low-interest small business loans for students involved in the JA Company program, which teaches entrepreneurship to high school students. In order to receive a loan from The Gold Bank, students must present their business idea to a panel of business leaders, including the Golds.

This year’s induction ceremony and live auction will be held at beautiful Lovett Hall at The Henry Ford museum. The JA Business Hall of Fame honors business leaders in Southeastern Michigan who exemplify what JA hopes to teach and inspire in young people.

Les Gold will act as celebrity auctioneer at the JA 2019 Hall of Fame ceremony.
